You'll laugh cry and cry laughing throughout this perfect show
You'd hope that a comedy about a star comedian fighting her way back into the spotlight would be funny, and Hacks is scathing in that regard, pulling no punches in its critique of Hollywood. But jokes aside, you also find yourself rooting for both Deborah and Ava, no matter how annoying or rude or even unkind they can be to each other. Much of that is down to the staggering chemistry shared between Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder. As long as this show keeps running, every other comedy should just skip out on the Emmys entirely. What's the point in competing when you're up against perfection?
