A team of Navy SEALs move in real-time through insurgent territory in 2006 during the war in Iraq. The gritty picture documents the realities of war, from the raucous celebrations to the devastating deaths.
An uncompromising and unsettling depiction of war
See this film on the biggest, loudest screen you can, and it'll reverberate through your soul for hours (maybe even days) after. Warfare is not a movie I'd rush to watch again, but that's only down to the profoundly uncomfortable and impactful experience we must endure the first time round. It's a no-holds-barred depiction of the minutae of conflict, with raucous explosions, frenetic camerawork, and some of the most authentic performances I've seen in a while. Credit to Joseph Quinn and Cosmo Jarvis for transmitting their pain so convincingly that I forgot they were even actors at all.
