Liza is a struggling high school dropout looking for any way to sustain her life as a single mother. Pain Hustlers is a conspiracy drama movie produced by Grey Matter Productions and Wychwood Pictures for Netflix. The movie is directed by English filmmaker David Yates who is known for directing four movies in the Fantastic Beasts movies. Pain Hustlers was written by screenwriter Wells Tower. The movie is based on The Hard Sell, a book written by Evan Hughes which developed from his own New York Times Magazine article “The Pain Hustlers”. The movie is scored by veteran American film composer, James Newton Howard.
Pain Hustlers is led by British actress Emily Blunt who plays high school dropout, Liza Drake. Former Beetlejuice. The wider cast includes Jay Duplass, Brian d’Arcy James, and Chloe Coleman. Pain Hustlers was released in theaters on October 27th, 2023.
