When you really break it down, all British detective thrillers are basically the same. Ok, maybe not all. Just the vast majority. But before you shoot the messenger, I'm here to sing the praises of a show that actually brings something new to the genre by exploring how race, religion, and toxic masculinity can intersect in deeply painful yet very entertaining ways (for the purpose of telly). Plus, it's been a while since British viewers were given a hot stud detective to thirst over, for which we thank you, Staz Nair. You're doing god's work.
