Synopsis
After his family are killed, Jack s the army on Earth to fight a rebel group on the Moon
In a not-so-distant-future, Jack finds himself bereft and out for revenge after his family are killed in a terrorist attack by a Moon-based rebel group. He signs up for Earth’s army, but finds his world further shaken when he realises his former friend is one of the rebel leaders on the Moon.

The plot is lunacy, but the animation is out of this world
If you're an anime fan, you'll know that this team up between Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa and Attack on Titan director Masashi Koizuka is a big deal. But if you are an anime fan, you might have also heard that Moonrise doesn't live up to the potential of that dream pairing. Yet even so, the visuals are quite literally out of this world in every way possible. Even when the plot meanders or sometimes confuses, you'll happily pause any given moment and frame it to hang in the Louvre regardless.
